Not sure which Seoul office handles your question? The 120 Dasan Call Center can be a starting point for routine city-service enquiries. The important detail: English telephone support is not available around the clock.

Call at the right time

The foundation’s foreign-language service guide lists these English calling details:

What to checkEnglish service
Hours, Korea timeMonday–Friday, 09:00–18:00. Closed on weekends and public holidays.
Calling from a mobile phone in KoreaDial 02-120. At the automated menu, press 9, then 1 for English.
Calling from overseas+82-2-731-2120. Follow the foreign-language menu: 9, then 1 for English.

The centre’s general telephone guide lists 24-hour Korean counselling. That does not extend the English hours above. Calls have ordinary telephone charges, but no separate information-service surcharge; your phone plan and calling location affect the cost.

Is your question about a Seoul service?

120 covers Seoul city and district administration, including public transport enquiries, water bills, local taxes and municipal complaints. You can also ask about public facilities and cultural events. Start with the specific service or place, not your whole situation at once.

For example: “English, please. I need to ask my district office about bulky-waste collection. Which office should I contact?” This is an example question, not a promise that the call centre can arrange a collection for you.

The service may use three-way interpretation when needed for its consultation. Do not treat it as an on-demand interpreter for any private conversation. Questions outside Seoul’s city and district services may be outside its scope.

Keep one short note beside your phone

Our practical suggestion: write your district name, the relevant place or document, and one question. Keep the Korean spelling of an office or facility if you have it. Before ending the call, ask for the responsible office, the next step and an official page you can check later.

If you are reading this on a weekend, prepare the note now and use the next available weekday service hours, allowing for public holidays. Do not assume that a general “24 hours” notice means an English adviser is available.

Information checked: October 17, 2026 (Korea time). Hours and menus may change. This guide explains a contact service; it does not provide individual tax, legal or immigration advice.
