Seoul Baekje Museum: Check the Renovation Before a Gallery Trip

Information checked 27 October 2026 (Korea time)

Planning to see the permanent galleries at Seoul Baekje Museum? Read its renovation notice before setting out. A museum’s usual opening hours do not tell you whether a particular exhibition hall is available.

What the current notice says

The museum’s English construction notice, dated 15 May 2026, says that the first-floor exhibition hall and lobby are being renovated. It says the second-floor restaurant, parking lot and library remain open during the work.

The English homepage still prominently links this notice when checked on 27 October. The notice gives no reopening date. This guide therefore does not promise access to the renewed permanent exhibition.

Separate a gallery visit from a facility visit

If the permanent exhibition is the reason for your trip, confirm that hall’s access before travelling. The notice’s statement about the library or restaurant does not establish that the gallery is open too.

Our suggested question is specific: ‘Will the permanent exhibition hall be open on my visit date, and which galleries can I enter?’ Write down the date rather than asking only whether the museum is open.

Use the right contact and schedule

The museum’s general information page lists its information desk at +82-2-2152-5800. It lists ordinary admission as free, with possible charges for special exhibitions. Those usual admission terms do not confirm access during renovation.

The homepage lists normal hours of 09:00–19:00, with Friday opening until 21:00. From November through February, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays normally close at 18:00. Mondays and 1 January are normal closure days; the homepage says a Monday public holiday is an exception.

Make a plan that fits the answer

The museum’s published address is 71 Wiryeseong-daero, Songpa-gu, Seoul. Check the current notice and confirm the space you need before planning a special journey. If gallery access is your main aim and remains unconfirmed, choose another museum for that outing. Keep this museum for a date when its exhibition access is clear.
