DREO Heater Recall: Check the Model and Date Before Use

KEYWORD_WORLD · Life · 2 November 2026

If you own a DREO DR-HSH015 space heater, check the date on its underside. Units made from April 2025 through January 2026 are included in a US and Canadian recall. Stop using an affected heater, unplug it and contact DREO for a free replacement.

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Health Canada announced the recall on 29 October 2026. The units can overheat and ignite, creating fire and burn hazards.

Check the model and date together

First unplug the heater and allow it to cool before looking at the label. The model and manufacture date are on the underside. The date uses a year/month format: 2025/04 through 2026/01, inclusive. Both the model DR-HSH015 and that date range must match.

The affected units are black ceramic electric heaters, about 11.5 inches (29 cm) wide and 13 inches (33 cm) tall, with a remote. Appearance alone does not establish a match. The CPSC notice has photographs of the actual product and label.

How the replacement process works

  1. Stop using and unplug an affected heater. Record its model, date code and serial number from the label.
  2. Use DREO’s official recall notice to reach the registration instructions, or call 833-820-0887 from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern Time, Monday through Friday.
  3. Follow the current instructions for the destruction code, unplugged cord and required photographs. The CPSC says owners will be asked to cut the cord and provide a photo; do this only after unplugging and following the recall instructions.
  4. Submit the required information for review. DREO says an affected unit is eligible for a free replacement and an original receipt is not required.

Do not sell or give away the recalled unit. Health Canada specifically says that redistribution, sale or gifting of recalled products is prohibited in Canada.

Scope and reported incidents

The US agency reports about 338,800 affected units in the United States and about 36,300 in Canada. It lists US sales from September 2025 through October 2026; Health Canada reports Canadian sales from September 2025 through August 2026. These sales periods are not the manufacture dates used for identification.

The CPSC reports 17 heater ignition reports, including three involving property damage and one hand burn. Health Canada’s 22 October snapshot uses a different reporting cutoff, so its incident counts should not be added to the CPSC figures.
